IBO Player setup: MAC address, device key and playlist upload
IBO Player is one of the most common IPTV players on Samsung and LG smart TVs. You don't log in on the TV itself. Instead, you link the TV to your playlist through the developer's website.

How IBO Player works
Smart TV remotes make typing long playlist links painful, so IBO Player uses a two-device setup:
- The TV app shows a MAC address and a device key.
- On your phone or computer, you enter those codes on the developer's website and add your playlist there.
- The TV downloads the playlist the next time the app starts.
Step-by-step setup
IBO Player: 1. Install the app
On Samsung, open Apps and search IBO Player. On LG, open the LG Content Store. On Android TV or Google TV, use the Play Store. Install and open it.
2. Note your codes
The first screen shows the Mac Address (six pairs of letters and numbers, like A1:B2:C3:D4:E5:F6) and the Device Key. Take a photo with your phone so you don't mistype them.
3. Upload your playlist on the official site
- Open the developer's official website. The address is shown inside the app, so type it from there rather than searching, because look-alike sites exist.
- Go to the Manage playlist or Login section and enter the MAC address and device key.
- Choose Add playlist. Enter a name and either your M3U link, or your Xtream server, username and password if Xtream is offered.
- Optionally set a PIN to protect the playlist from being edited.
4. Restart the app on your TV
Fully close the app (on Samsung, hold the Back button) and reopen it. Select your playlist. Channels, movies and series load in a minute or two.
Activation after the trial
When the trial ends, the app shows a payment notice. Pay only on the developer's official site, the same one you used to upload the playlist. If anyone else offers to "activate IBO for free," treat it as a scam. Our IPTV scams guide covers similar tricks.
Useful settings
- Change language and time format under Settings so guide times show in 12-hour US format.
- Change the player engine if a channel won't play. The settings menu offers alternatives that handle some stream formats better.
- Parental lock hides selected categories behind the PIN.
Troubleshooting IBO Player
| Problem | Fix |
|---|---|
| "No playlist" after uploading | Double-check the MAC address; restart the app fully; confirm you saved the playlist on the site |
| Playlist loads but channels fail | Test the same login on another device; if it fails there too, contact your provider |
| Guide is empty | With M3U, make sure an EPG link is included; see our EPG guide |
| App asks to activate again | Your trial or yearly activation expired; renew on the official site only |
Frequently asked questions
Is IBO Player free?
It offers a free trial period after installation. After that, the developer charges an activation fee per device, either yearly or one-time depending on the plan. That fee goes to the app developer and is separate from your IPTV subscription.
What's the difference between IBO Player and IBO Player Pro?
They're related apps with similar setup through a MAC address and device key. Pro has a refreshed interface and is offered on more platforms. Check which one your TV's store lists, and use the matching section of the developer's website.
I changed from Wi-Fi to Ethernet and my channels vanished. Why?
The app identifies your TV by its MAC address, and wired and wireless connections use different ones on many TVs. Re-open the app to see the new MAC, then add your playlist to it on the developer's site.
